Mesothelioma cancer is a deadly disease which is caused when a person is exposed with asbestos, a natural mineral and glass dust. The people who are diagnosed with this cancer are either shipbuilders, welders, plumbers, insulation workers and chemical plant workers. These workers during their work tenure inhales asbestos which destroys mesothelium which is a protective covering around internal organs. This prevents the free movement of internal organs, thus it gives rise to chest and abdominal pain. Blood clots in vein which results in fatigue and there is unusual weight loss.

Asbestos is a toxic mineral and government has started taking steps to regulate its use. Despite this complaints are coming and there is an exponential rise in the number of patients suffering from mesothelioma especially malignant mesothelioma. The latency period of this cancer is very long which means the illness may not be recognized for say 20 to 50 years; it remains in a dormant stage.

Court cases have come up against companies who know about the harmful effects of asbestos but still didn’t use any protective measure for its employees. Knowing the health risks, they kept on producing and selling their product. Individuals are now aware of this disease and are filing lawsuits against the owners. They seek compensation for their miserable life.

All the bills generated during the treatment are accumulated and produced in courts so that they can get money from the company. Many even lose their source of income due to mesothelioma, thus they want the companies to pay them.
